- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'DirectX For Microsoft® Windows' = '%WINDIR%\dxdrvr.exe -dx'
Malicious functions:
To bypass firewall, removes or modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKLM>\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\DomainProfile\AuthorizedApplications\List] '%WINDIR%\dxdrvr.exe' = '%WINDIR%\dxdrvr.exe:*:Enabled:sounddrv.exe'
To complicate detection of its presence in the operating system,
blocks execution of the following system utilities:
- Windows Task Manager (Taskmgr)
blocks the following features:
- System Restore (SR)
Creates and executes the following:
- %WINDIR%\dxdrvr.exe -dx
Executes the following:
- %WINDIR%\regedit.exe /s %WINDIR%\suxn.reg
Sets a new unauthorized home page for Windows Internet Explorer.
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- %WINDIR%\dxdrvr.exe
- %WINDIR%\shot.pre
- %WINDIR%\suxn.reg
Miscellaneous:
Searches for the following windows:
- ClassName: 'MS_WINHELP' WindowName: ''
- ClassName: 'RegEdit_RegEdit' WindowName: ''
