Technical Information
To ensure autorun and distribution:
Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'sintaxis' = '%WINDIR%\system234.exe'
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] 'shell' = 'Explorer.exe <SYSTEM32>\mexica.exe'
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows] 'run' = '%WINDIR%\temp\mexica.exe'
Creates the following files on removable media:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\AUTORUN.inf
- <Drive name for removable media>:\azteca.exe
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- C:\azteca.exe
- C:\AUTORUN.inf
- <SYSTEM32>\mexica.exe
- %WINDIR%\system234.exe
- %WINDIR%\Temp\mexica.exe
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\azteca.exe
- <Drive name for removable media>:\AUTORUN.inf
- C:\azteca.exe
- C:\AUTORUN.inf
