To ensure autorun and distribution:
Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] 'Userinit' = '%WINDIR%\userinit.exe'
Creates the following files on removable media:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- <Drive name for removable media>:\Honey.exe
Malicious functions:
Creates and executes the following:
- '<SYSTEM32>\system.exe'
- '%WINDIR%\userinit.exe'
Executes the following:
- '<SYSTEM32>\regsvr32.exe' <SYSTEM32>\MSWINSCK.OCX /s
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- %WINDIR%\kdcoms.dll
- <SYSTEM32>\system.exe
- <SYSTEM32>\MSWINSCK.OCX
- %WINDIR%\userinit.exe
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\Honey.exe
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- %WINDIR%\userinit.exe
- <SYSTEM32>\system.exe
Deletes the following files:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- %TEMP%\~DF46C.tmp
