- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'xpserve' = '<SYSTEM32>\xpserve.exe'
Malicious functions:
To complicate detection of its presence in the operating system,
forces the system hide from view:
- hidden files
blocks execution of the following system utilities:
- Registry Editor (RegEdit)
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- %HOMEPATH%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\KHMHGZ4F\%61%33%2E%68%74%6D[1]
- <SYSTEM32>\dllcache\lsoss.exe
- <SYSTEM32>\xpserve.exe
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- <SYSTEM32>\xpserve.exe
