Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'load' = '%WINDIR%\Loikaw.exe'
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] ' * ' = '%APPDATA%\control.exe'
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Classes\.cmd] '' = 'soesoe'
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] 'Userinit' = '<SYSTEM32>\userinit.exe,%WINDIR%\Loikaw.exe'
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Classes\.bat] '' = 'soesoe'
Creates the following files on removable media:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- <Drive name for removable media>:\Loikawhacking.day.com
Malicious functions:
To complicate detection of its presence in the operating system,
forces the system hide from view:
- hidden files
- file extensions
blocks execution of the following system utilities:
- Windows Task Manager (Taskmgr)
- Registry Editor (RegEdit)
Creates and executes the following:
- '%WINDIR%\%USERNAME%.exe'
- '%APPDATA%\control.exe'
Modifies settings of Windows Explorer:
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer] 'NoFolderOptions' = '00000001'
- [<HKCU>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer] 'NoFind' = '00000001'
Forces autoplay for removable media.
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- <LS_APPDATA>\Microsoft\CD Burning\autorun.inf
- <LS_APPDATA>\Microsoft\CD Burning\Mp3.exe
- C:\Temp.pif
- C:\autorun.inf
- %HOMEPATH%\Desktop\Virus Information.txt
- <SYSTEM32>\Iexplorer.exe
- %APPDATA%\control.exe
- <SYSTEM32>\extramain.exe
- %WINDIR%\%USERNAME%.exe
- %WINDIR%\Loikaw.exe
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- <LS_APPDATA>\Microsoft\CD Burning\autorun.inf
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- C:\autorun.inf
- %WINDIR%\%USERNAME%.exe
- %APPDATA%\control.exe
- <SYSTEM32>\Iexplorer.exe
- <SYSTEM32>\extramain.exe
Deletes the following files:
- %APPDATA%\control.exe
- C:\Temp.pif
- %WINDIR%\Loikaw.exe
- <SYSTEM32>\Iexplorer.exe
- <SYSTEM32>\extramain.exe
Moves the following files:
- from %APPDATA%\control.exe to %APPDATA%\control.exe
Miscellaneous:
Searches for the following windows:
- ClassName: '' WindowName: '(null)'
- ClassName: 'Shell_TrayWnd' WindowName: '(null)'
